I love the way the club embraces the hero's in the community. Lot's of clubs doing their bit around Christmas but we do it all year round.

...all of those stories are tremendous and reflect the amount of work that goes on within 'Everton in the Community'. Well done to the Club and all those involved. One small observation, I think the actual award could be something other than a framed certificate. Not quite fitting, perhaps a nice piece of glass in the Everton crest.

Well done all.

Good idea that Eggs.

Magnificent - the young lady trying to steal a kiss from Leighton is my mate's daughter - All associated with DSL do wonderful work, not only money wise but as Jimmy said in the video its about raising awareness about Downs. Well done Everton and Leighton !!

...loved that lovely young girl pinching a kiss off Baines and the way he handled the situation with real dignity and maturity. Quite fitting that EFC are rewarding the DSL cause, if I remember rightly both Lee Carsley and Kevin Kilbane had kids with Downs Syndrome. So humbling to watch such dedicated individuals.

I take it all back,Everton and Bainesy you're totally forgiven, thats fantastic, what a fantastic bloke Jimmy is whether he is a blue or not,but made up he is a blue!!!

My own brother lived with Downs.....he was an Evertonian and sat in the Street End next to my niece...its so lovely to see the club engage with the local community like this - agree with Eggs about the award itself but the great thing is that Jimmy didn't expect anything in recognition of his work .... like most people they just do it
