That following season we played some quality togger, such a strong side with a mix and balance of everything you could want, sprinkled off with the amazing Kanchelskis.

Felt like it was over before it had even started the following season :(

Beating Derby away on the Monday night (96/97) just before Christmas and even the pundits were starting to talk about us as title challengers . Then injuries over Christmas to hinchecliffe and Parkinson and the wheels came off the royle era . Gutted at the time

Aye mate, was it Barmby or Parkinson who bundled in the winner away at Derby. That Hinchcliffe injury really stopped the momentum we had at the time didn't it. He was absolutely superb under Royle

Joe Parkinson in the last 10 minutes . Hinchecliffe was superb under royle as was Parkinson . He would of made the England side .
