Bruce Wayne

Player Valuation: £100m
With Cleverley seemingly on board, and hopefully Lennon to follow, we could have 8 of our first team with England honours next season, totaling 170 caps between them.

Ok, only four of those are likely to feature for England next season, but still, I can't recall a time when we've had so many in the squad.

Sign of our progress or the falling standards of the England team?

Well, the two names you mention suggest it is a sign of the falling standard of the England team.

Thirty years ago we had Reid, Stevens, Steven, Lineker and Bracewell amassing England caps in a team which reached the World Cup quarter finals.

Today we have Cleverly and Lennon :(

And even our good England players, Baines, Barkley and Jags pale in comparison with the class of '85.

We're a pretty decent team for representing the United Kingdom; Barkley, Stones, Baines, Jags England internationals, Barry former, Osman once, Garbutt/Ledson etc in the youth teams. Naismith for Scotland. McGeady, Gibson, Coleman & McCarthy for Ireland (I know they're not GB). I think if they ever upped the quote we'd be one of a few teams in the prem who wouldn't struggle.
