Everton have agreed a deal to sign Denmark International Lars Jacobsen.
Everton have today confirmed they are on the verge of their first signing of the summer after David Moyes agreed a deal to recruit Denmark international Lars Christian Jacobsen.
The news came on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon following discussions with Blues officials and the 28-year-old's advisers.
Jacobsen has been on Merseyside at Everton's Finch Farm headquarters and will sign a one-year agreement subject to finalising a medical examination on Tuesday morning.
A right-sided defender, Jacobsen spent last season at UEFA Cup opponents FC Nuremberg - making a total of seven appearances. However, he did not feature against the Toffees in the 2-0 victory.
He started his career at Odense in 1996, making a total of 112 appearances before making his first move to the Bundesliga with SV Hamburg.
Sandwiched between his spells in Germany was a three year period at FC Copenhagen where he gained valuable experience in the Champions League and helped his side to the Danish Superliga in 2003–04, 2005-06 and 2006–07.
Jacobsen has been his country's first choice at right back since 2006 but has missed out on the World Cup and Euro 2008 tournaments after Denmark failed to qualify. Evertonfc.com
