Everton 5th in the injury league table

But Martinez should be sacked and being battered behind the scenes by big Dunc because he's not using the squad properly yano.

I didn't mention Southampton.

I know, I can read.

It was merely an example. Injuries are a fine reason for a lot of our problems, but not nearly enough to justify the failings of this season. You can ironically mock those annoyed with Martinez all you want, but the fact is he's messed up a lot this season and most of the responsibility is at his door.

Disclaimer: Martinez's decisions have wound me up no end this season, I was merely taking the michael out of those who post knee jerk drivel within 5 minutes of our most recent defeat.

The way people bang on about injuries you'd think we were worst.

5th is still pretty bad though.

A lot would be a seemingly small squad which has to play a lot of games I'd guess.

There's definitely something in between.

I've personally lost faith in him, though perhaps my past frustrations at Moyes' repetition of the same mistakes has shortened my fuse for Roberto. I just can't forgive a manager who keeps doing the same dumb stuff over and over. However, though I'm no longer sure he knows what's best, I do hope he pulls me back onto his side. We were great last year and our squad has bags of potential.

Also, I can and will blame injuries for our lack of wingers this season.

Mirallas has been unlucky but I'm sorry, he has regularly chosen to play no out and out wingers and often, when he had 2-3 available, he's just played 1 -- usually subbing off one winger for another.

Of course it doesn't help that Atsu is absolutely awful, but then Bobby did sign him. That extra bit Deulofeu added to the squad is being missed.

Injuries have been more of a pain this season as we've alway had a BIG player out starting with Barkley which is also why we say "when this or that player comes back".

But in reality we've never had all our CBs out. All our fullbacks etc

Even the players that have come in have done well. Besic, Hibbert, Naismith who wouldn't have been a starter at the start of the season plus others like Garbutt.

We can't blame injuries. We've been much more fortunate than other teams.

I think it's a bit early to lose faith in him. This season is his first attempt at Europe and the juggling of the squad etc and so it's understandable (not necessarily condonable (is that a word?)) for our drop in league form IMO. Let's not forget we are still in the mix with plenty of points to play for and the January transfer window just around the corner where we have to get a pacey winger. As you said, Mirallas has been unlucky but Atsu isn't good enough and McGeady has had his fair share of injuries and when he has played he has been massively inconsistent. Pienaar doesn't look to me like his body can cope with 90 minutes of premier league football anymore.

Injuries is just one of the reasons we've struggled this season, though.

In your opinion.

The players, especially the back 5, have been equally, if not more culpable. Nothing to do with being played out of position or any system....simply rank bad defending and goalkeeping.

Most on here we're excited beyond wet y-fronts when Atsu was mentioned as a potential loan signing.....again, player ineptitude as opposed to managerial incompetence in my opinion. Atsu was a winger people were desperate for and he's been a rabbit in the headlights totally scared of anything remotely taxing or physical.
