Watched in a bar in Thailand (Koh Samui) owned by a Thai Blue, was in middle of nowhere and an English bar owner sorted it for us cos his sat had stopped working, picked up & dropped off again as well. Thai fella was just made up to have a match going blue in the place, he was asking me about all kinds of things like the Bayern Game, Tricky Trevs goal v Sunderland and stuff like that, he was very knowledgable tbh.
Met absolutely loads of Thais that supported us.

What a game, what a crazy season!

If Sheringham hadn't gone down like he had been shot as well, we might well have gone through the whole cup run without conceding (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

When I think of that game I always think of Ablett tearing down the wing from our box to theirs like roadrunner for the 3rd or 4th goal, haha leg-end - RIP

Ahhhh good times!

It was a great game and a great time for the team. Just looking at the vid, all those forward passes to players running into space and crosses going in. Send it to RM.

I was 6 and Amokachi celebrating with his tongue out is my first real Everton memory. Became my trademark celebration for a while, but was soon replaced by the Big Dunc clenched fist.

I'm sure my old man bounced around the living room floor on his arse without any other part of his body touch the floor when the fourth went in too.

One of the most one sided games ive seen of us v someone, brilliant performance, brilliant day, remember Anna walker on co on goals on sunday, just before the game, with the guesses [who i cant remmeber] giving us no hope,i played footy in the garden most of the 1st half as i was scared incase we conceeded lol

It was strange on the way into the ground I had an unshakeable feeling that we would win and then when we got inside and saw that Everton had 3 sides of the ground, it was amazing, a brilliant atmosphere and it felt like we had the whole ground. The best semi final performance I have seen from Everton, we were the underdogs but we simply battered them. I remember Joe Royal saying he had been thinking about playing a defensive strategy with 5 at the back to counter act Spurs then deciding that wasn't the way to do it and to just go out and attack them. Great performances all over the pitch from everyone.

Bear in mind that when we beat Spurs 4-1 in the FA Cup Semi, at the time in the league:

Spurs were 7th on 52 points.
Everton were 17th on 39 points, just 2 points above the relegation zone, with 7 games left to play (4 teams went down that season, as they were reducing the Prem from 22 to 20).

Our FA Cup success that year was something of a miracle, given the relegation battle we were in at the time. The relegation battle that season is something that is often overlooked when looking back, these days.

It was by far and away the best Everton game that I have ever been to, and it most probably always will be. We just completely dominated them in every single aspect and regard from start to finish. It was an unbelievable performance and an unbelievable atmosphere that will most probably never be repeated.

It didn't start well for me though, I was only 10 and my dad's ticket stub (the important part that is handed to the man on the gate) was loose and ended up falling off the ticket and into some inaccessible building site next to Elland Road. The man on the gate wouldn't let my dad in without the ticket stub, so I had to go in the ground on my own.

Being alone in the ground as a 10 year old was torture for me, not because I was scared or anything, but because I was unable to participate in all the pre-match atmosphere properly (which was absolutely bouncing), as I was too concerned about what was happening to my dad, and I was worried that I might not find him after the match etc.

Anyway, at 14:59 my dad entered the ground along with a steward. It turns out that a fellow scouser had advised my dad to stop wasting his time arguing with stewards, and to approach a police officer and explain that his child is in the ground alone and unaccompanied due to his ticket falling apart. My dad must have spoken to a sound bizzie, as it was soon sorted so that he could take his seat in the stand as long as I was there alone and nobody else was occupying my dad's seat at 14:59.

Seeing my dad enter the ground at 14:59, and then witnessing the greatest Everton performance in the last 25 years made for one hell of a day out!!! :)

Remember the big F'off flag we had going around that day?lol

There was two of them, IIRC.

Oh how we ruined the media's perfect final; it was a man United Spurs final according to the media and the mighty Klinsmann would be gracing Wembley.

The plush main stand given to spurs and the scousers can get shunted everywhere else. What a mistake, it was virtually a home game.

Mental day, even better watching it back just to see the disappointment in the studio when the party had been wrecked

The spirit of Reid brace well sheedy and Steven descended on lesser mortals. Was pessimistic before game. We were ace, crowd gave one of those mad passionate massive club performances which we really do well when we can be bothered. Blew them away. Amokachi!!!!!! Is it 4?yes it is 4.!!!! Just brilliant.
