Bob Latchford' s return as manager of Swansea :

Howard Kendall as player manager!! Very interesting to see how what became the excellent side of the mid 80s grew slowly from one or two of them being introduced that season. Very young sharp, ratcliffe and Stevens in there with players who did not last particularly long like Alan Biley, Walsh (the blond defender) and eammon OKeefe.

Ironically we used Kendall as part of the deal to sign Latchford too.

Toshack the queer was manager. Liked the way big bob applauded the fans when he scored and the fans warmly applauded back. This game also shows the reason Dia Davies was not good enough for Everton albeit a few years older. Gary Stanleys shorts made me laugh, Neil Robinson also playing and the older Leighton James certainly had the measure of the younger Gary Stevens. Ratcliffe was gash at left back and was a bit of a boo boy in his early years
