I cant believe I have read back through and seen pages talking about Hillsborough and the like. Not everything in this world is black and white and to generalise everybody in the same bracket is wrong.

People from Liverpool with family ties who support both the blues and reds know the difference- its people outside who dont get it. My guess is suits is not from Liverpool and does not have family ties from the city?! Am I right?

Im not from Liverpool but a good percentage of my family are- most of which support the [Poor language removed]. Its rivalry and more often than not WE get left with a bitter taste in our mouths i.e. Saturday, 89 Cup final and the European ban which I believe would have cemented us up in that top 4 bracket now if that team in the 80's were allowed to grace the pitches of Europe.

But to call all Liverpool fans murderers is pretty disgusting to be honest. You are calling relatives of mine murderers because they prefer the reds over the blues- thats like saying anyone who votes conservative is responsible for the housing crash in the early 1990's.

Now dont get me wrong I really hate the [Poor language removed] and its not bitterness but its the way they get away with so much i.e. changing the rules to get into the champions league when we got 4th. Saturday was just another chapter to the ever growing encyclopedia that should titled:

'How to get away with it' By Liverpool FC football club.
What happened with the 80s European ban? Never heard of it. (excuse my ignorance :D )

Because of the Liverpool football hooliganism in the 1980's there was a ban on all English clubs in Europe. The ban kicked in when we won the league and had arguably the best side in our history. The biggest shame of all is that team would have done well in Europe for years to come.

Gerrard definatly shook clattenbergs hand as he was walking off the pitch, it was shown on Sky.

Yes, I noticed that at the time. Clattenberg had his back to me, so I don't know who offered their hand first, but they did shake. Innocent enough on a normal day, but in these circumstances it's hardly surprising people are reading things into it.

I just watched the game on internet archive last night (intentionally didn't know the result before watching.) Needless to say I felt sick to my stomach and couldn't sleep after. My few thoughts:

The referee overshadowed a great match.
Lescott and Yobo were stellar in the back.
Yakubu and Vic held the ball up well - can't wait for Cahill to be there to drill home some nice setups from these guys.
Carragher may be the worst whiner I've seen in a while. Pathetic.
We played with 10, but it never seemed that way.
