It's ridiculous, utd's personal ref representative (rs babel got a ban for a photocopy of him in a utd top) telling us how if our players do it it's not a pen, but utd, rs etc it is....

How can nunez, salah etc get pens when making the most of it but if we do it's no foul?
 

Absolute arse covering from Webb there. “The ref was momentarily shown the view from behind the goal, but would have come to same decision anyway.”

He wasn’t, he started getting the replay from behind the goal, but was already walking away from the screen having changed his mind.

Webb also blaming fact that as the angle was shown on broadcast, that’s where the criticism comes from. What? The fact that the TV audience saw a better angle than the ref? That’s a big problem, no? I see PGMOL wanting to curb criticism of decisions, and will likely push broadcasters to limit replay angles “for the integrity of the game” rather than getting the right decision.

Finally, the fact that the VAR first question was “is this enough to make him fall in that manner”, rather than “was there a foul”, “is that a shirt pull”, tells you all you need to know about how they approached that review.

Honestly, think this stinks.
 
Discuss all the angles of Maguire, but then ask the ref to also look at De Ligt - while showing the one angle where you can't see the blatant shirt pull. FFS.

It honestly looks like pure incompetence though. Once they also consider De Ligt, they should have looked at it from the angle behind the goal. When they DID view that angle, they were only looking at Maguire. It should have been easy to see the shirt being pulled though, and maybe wonder who was doing that if not Maguire.
