Ever been in prison?

Played football in a prison against a prison team. (obvs)

...that's a shout. Played at Kirkham Open prison, a lad was painting the changing room. When I said I hadn't seen a prisoner he said he was one. Also played at Ashworth where Ian Brady was housed. Some security in that place.

Only to visit mates.
I went to visit a 'mate' before I went in (Bedford, Brixton, Wandsworth, Maidstone, Blantyre House, Latchmere House consecutively as I worked my way through the sentence - never been inside before or since). Turns out it was him who told the police after I drunkenly told him what I'd done. Wasn't sure he believed me until I had the knock on the front and back doors. He bought himself a new car with the reward money!

It's the two previous years that are described in the biographical novel I mentioned in another thread. It reads just like a film script and I wouldn't be surprised if a film was adapted from it.

YES.

Actually that's boolocks. My great grandad on the other hand... well, apparently he was the scouse version of Cilian Murphy from peaky blinders. He did a number of 4-6 week stretches for various assaults - possibly the occasional illegal gambling racket - but never proper bird and as a merchant trader (who gambled it all away) he had quite a few of them in his pocket.

Back in the day he was once the talk of a few ale houses after sparking the chief constable of Liverpool, he still got arrested though and once back in the nick, the chief's minions went a bit "midnight express" on him. Next day his missus bailed him, and the white shirt he was wearing had magically turned completely crimson...

I went to Brixton prison when I was 9.

My nan used to volunteer there, making tea and suchlike. not sure they'd let a nine year old into a prison these days, stupid Health & Safety.

I feel like you want to tell us all about it, what did you do?
