Eurovision song contest.

Incredible as it seems over 100 million people will sit down tonight to watch this annual celebration of nepotism and glitz. I find the entire fatuous event a total waste of time and energy. We stand no chance because of political matters and in fact most western European countries are bloc voted out of it thus creating the normal farce. As for the ludicrous standard of music produced well imo it is benmeath contempt. In all this jamboree is a total waste of licence payers money and we should set the trend and tell them to stuff it.

What do you think of this bash and will those who are able, will you watch it.

having seen some of the entrants fozzy they look as though they are out of Dr Who, unfortunately the BBC as normal can't get any [Poor language removed] thing right mate from MOTD downwards:angry: (y)

I think we in the UK should declare ourselves an Eastern European state - I think it's the only way we'll get votes form anyone else other than Ireland and Malta! :unsure:

We could try entering as Brittania, having ia seems to make all the difference. On a sober note all these little countries are being absorbed into the EC, they'll take it over!

Given that is the most excruciatingly poor multinational community project ever devised by mankind, is it time we left the Euro...vision song contest completely?

We'll never, ever, ever, ever win it again. We could reincarnate Freddie Mercury, enter Bohemian Rhapsody as our entry and still finish outside the top ten, so there's no competitive point to being in it and, given that Poland and Portugal have set the ball rolling by simply refusing to enter on financial grounds, should we follow suit?

It annoys me to know that I'm paying a TV licence for such pure, unadulterated sh*** every year and it needs to stop IMO.

my mother in law has the last four years saved on the sky+. The wife's family love it and have parties every year for it.
