Europa league winners gain entry to Champions League from 2015/16. Worth it now ?

I agree with Brennan, I cannot see any evidence that the Europa League has any effect on the League form I just think it's a poor excuse. You spend all season trying to finish as high in the League as you can and trying to get into Europe and then bitch about it the following season...I think everyone should embrace it.

i think the Premier League should give 4th to the europa league, and that 4th CL spot goes to the FA Cup.

See where you're coming from but nein for me. Much harder to come 4th than to win the FA cup....wouldn't be fair.

No evidence that Europe hinders league performance overall. In fact our highest league points total came when we played the most European games.

Newcastle did poorly because Pardew is a crap manager, their squad is plenty big enough to cope with a few games on thursday nights.

People forget that we actually came 5th two years in a row whilst being involved in the Europa League.

YES, agree 100%.

This will give the FA cup the boost it needs, it will stop teams fielding weakened sides in the early rounds.
Every single team will give 100% if this was the case.

It's a good move but, given that most of the time the Europa League is won by someone dropping out of the Champions League, it makes you wonder whether it will have any real effect. Perhaps a way of countering this is to not have Champs League teams going in to the Europa League after the group stages.
