Hello Guys,

Wondering if you can help me, I have been racking my brains trying to work it out!

Have Everton got any chance of UEFA cup qualifiaction in 7th? I know 6th is now a UEFA Cup place but cannot understand why 7th isnt?

7th isn't because Liverpool have taken one of the slots for Carling Cup - therefore only 6 more left (4 x CL, 2 x Europa for 5th & 6th)
 
They should give the Europa League 4 sopts. Why give the top clubs 4 spots in the Champions League, but not the chasing pack 4 spots in the Europa League? How are the chasing pack meant to bridge the gap when there's hardly any spaces to qualify via the league?
 

i see, so liverpool basically need to finish 6th and everton 7th for 7th to get a spot! that wont happen, i guess there is no chance for an extra spot for topping the fair play league?

in that scenario the r/s would no doubt (out of pure spite) elect to take up the Europa League spot place, thus denying us and putting Cardiff into Europe.
 
We will win our last 4 games and finish on 60 points, and one or both of the following will happen....

Spurs' poor form will continue and they will fail to get a single point from their last 4 games against Blackburn, Bolton, Villa and Fulham, and finish on 59 points, and / or

Chelsea will only pick up one more point from their tricky 4 games against QPR, Newcastle, Liverpool and Blackburn, finishing also on 59 points.

Hence we will finish either 5th or 6th.

Very very very small chance of that happening but hey its still possible

But if we finish above Chelsea and then Chelsea win either of the two cups they're still in and 6th doesn't get into the Europa either.

Let's face it we are not going to see an Anichebe ripping up Ex-Soviet Block defences under the floodlights next year.

Erm, if Chelsea win the CL... Then doesn't 7th place in the EPL now qualify for the Europa League?

Providing of course that Chelsea don't finish in the top 4.
