Do you want Europa League?

  • Yes, I wanna travel to European meccas like Gibraltar or Kosovo

  • No thank you - I already voted to leave the EU

  • I'm intrigued by the possibilities of various continental cheese on toast

Player Valuation: £5m
I know some people will argue that this competition is actually detrimental to a league campaign. Particularly given that this season we entered it in July and got our confidence hammered during the group stages. But I for one would always rather be involved in any cup competition - as our league title prospects aren't great...

I've read that there are 3 places up for grabs for Premier League teams in the EL this season: FA Cup winners, League Cup winners and 5th place. Seeing that City have already won the LC, that creates an additional place in the league positions. If Chelsea were to win the FA Cup, that creates another place, given that they're in 5th place and not likely to catch the top 4. So now we're talking about 6th and 7th place in the league getting qualification. If Arsenal were to win the Europa League itself they will qualify for the Champions League. Would that open up another spot for an 8th place finish? I don't see us catching Burnley (don't deserve to actually), so if we hold our position would we get in? Jesus we'd probably start qualifiers next month!!!

Can anyone shed any more light on this? I know there are a lot of "ifs" and "maybes" in there...

You have to be 7th to get in it, no lower

Anyone remotely wanting to play in that infernal competition whilst we're in the state we're in wants their heads looking at.
Are the experiences of July and August last year forgotten already. World cup year, starting early, I could go on.
And this as a reward for finishing eighth? Do me a favour!

I've been supporting Everton all my life, some people would suggest I need my head looked at already!

Without being rude to the OP, as we can't finish 7th, this thread is kind of redundant... until next season.
