What a ball from Beckham for Crouch's goal. The way he shaped up, used the spin of the ball was absolutely world class. That is why England need him in the team, he did a job defensively and got up and down well. But he is always likely to get you a goal or two.

Well seriously though, when was the last time a performance excited anyone? Holland 4-1? Germany 5-1? I don't care if we win one-nil all the way to the finals, it was a professional job and it was done right.

Estonia are a tough side to break down and our class showed in the end. Most teams have only managed a single goal in these games.

Trouble with England, and this is something I have picked up on, and that is the lack of impact that our subs make. You would think, "great got my chance, now let me show you what I can do", but they never seem to do anything.

Beckham's passing excited me though, and once we have a sharper Owen, with maybe a better quality striker alongside him, then we could start to see some momentum again.

The fact that we got 3 points is I suppose enough but if the performance had been a bit more emphatic then this would have had a physocological effect on our opponents in the remaing games. It may also help if McLaren stopped chopping and changing the team.

I get nothing like the pleasure watching England as I do watching Everton though. To be honest I couldn't really care less if England get through to the finals or not.

They have failed to score a goal in all of their ties so far.

Well I'm still proud to be English and I always will be. I supported Everton when they were crap, very rarely agreed with the manager's decisions but still backed the lads.

So I am English and I get the same pleasure for England as I do for Everton. Because I am English, simple as that.

We all know McClaren is a tit, but there are lads out there who are always working for the cause (Lampard excluded), and there is passion.

We scored three bloody good goals, which is more than our competitors have done, so I am happy. Plus we were 30 seconds away from beating Brazil, so lets look at the big picture.
