NB Only In the event of a prediction for a draw please nominate a winner of the tie.
Scoring
1. 90 minute score Team A v Team B
If you predict an outright winner (90 minutes):
Correct Score = 4 pts
Correct Margin = 3 pts
Correct Result = 2 pts
Incorrect Result = 0 pts
If you predict a team to win and the match is a draw after 90 mins, you retain your predicted winner for the
outcome of AET/pens. If they win AET/pens = 1 pt (consolation)
If you predict a draw (90 mins) you must also nominate a team to win the tie:
Correct Score = 3 pts
Correct Result = 2 pts
Nominated winner AET/pens = +1 pt (bonus)
You will still score 3 or 2 points if you correctly predict a draw but your nominated winner of the tie
subsequently lose AET/pens.
Maximum possible points for score in any match = 4 points.
Goalscorer
2. Nominated player is 1st Goalscorer in 90 mins = 2 pts
3. Nominated player scores (in 90 mins) but is not 1st Goalscorer= 1 pts
You can only earn points for either 2 OR 3 above.
Maximum 90 mins Goalscorer points = 2pts
4. Nominated player scores any goal in Extra Time = 1 pt
Maximum AET Goalscorer points = 1pt
(Penalty Shoot out goals are not included)
Tiebreakers
1. Most correct scores (90 mins)
2. Most correct results (90 mins)
3. Closest number of goals to actual from 90 minutes play
4. Higher Ranked player
Quarter-Finals draw
A: Seed 1 v Seed 8
B: Seed 5 v Seed 4
C: Seed 3 v Seed 6
D: Seed 7 v Seed 2
Semi-Final
Winner A v Winner B
Winner C v Winner D
(The Semi Final will follow the same format as the Quarter Finals - tiebreaker 4. will be the player with the higher carry over from the Quarter Final)
(In the Final one match to be played - one point will be awarded to the player with the higher carry over of points in the quarter finals & semi finals combined or, failing that, on a tiebreaker - clarification will be provided at this point).
I recommend those who qualify to pm me their predictions for the latter stages as this will avoid the problem of posting first or matching scores.
