Euro 2016: England XI

I really think Rooney is done in the England team now. Much better and in form strikers England actually have now.

If you have a counter with pace setup then he'll drag everyone down. However he might be useful if you need to change tactics if that strategy isn't working.

The team that should be starting at the euros won't be starting. Rooney is a guaranteed starter under Roy

(GK) Hart
(RB) Clyne
(CB) Morgan
(CB) Smalling/stones (ball playing cb)
(LB) Rose

(CM) Drinkwater
(CDM) Dier
(CM) Barkley/Alli

(LWF) Vardy
(CF) Kane
(RWF) Walcott/Lennon

I know some of the players like Drinkwater, Walcott and Morgan may be controversial, but that is why our national mentality needs to change. We are so used to being told how great the players at top clubs are, then surprised at why we fail at major tournaments.

Wes Morgan - Does what a defender is supposed to do - DEFEND. Captain and ever present of the new Premier League champions.
Danny Drinkwater - Midfield engine, great mentality, championship winning team, neat and tidy, well balanced.
Eric Dier - Tidy on the ball, sits infront of the back four, in form for club and done well for the national team recently.
Jamie Vardy - Why not ?! Chat sh*t get banged, plus who doesn't like a party ?
Theo Walcott - Underachieved yet has the ability to put defenders on the back foot, ideal for relieving pressure.
Aaron Lennon - Surprise pick for many, well balanced for defending and attacking, in form winger, team player with the ability to take teams forward in a instant.

Others I would take are:

Sturridge for his finishing.
Rooney for his winning experience and old wise head in a young team.
Sterling for his left side threat (when on form)
Would anybody consider a wise head in midfield ? Carrick, Milner, Henderson or Barry ?

Again many shocks in my team but im trying to get away from the same old players at same old 'big boys' sitting on their benches collecting more than they are entitled too.

Wes morgan is jamaican

I think the defence is going to cost England dearly in the Euros. Clyne isn't good enough, likewise Smalling, Stones is struggling a bit and Rose is unproven. I could see them going with a packed defence and going over the top to Vardy. Safety first type of management.

My exact feelings. Hodgson is the very definition of safety first with England. I think that's why he was hired.
