Looks like a mid table Championship side lad

Muller, Kroos, Gotze and Ozil all vying for the same kind of position.

Ridiculous. It's their tournament to lose.

I agree. I've been thinking that this is Germany's year, they can beat Spain.

Throw in Podolski, Reus, Gomez and Klose (always great internationally but he's found his feet in the league again)... Jesus. They may be scoring for fun.

And compared to say, the Dutch, they're more resolute and assured mentally, so the odds of them turning on-paper potential into actual results are good I reckon.

Their squad is ridiculously good, as is the Dutch's.

Like you said too, the Germans seem to have the strength of mind that England can only dream of.

Midfield is outstanding; Goalies as per usual are top class; Centre of defence I'm not too sure about: Badstuber is decent from what I've seen, but Mertesacker I think can be got at, Hummels is very good. Full backs of Lahm and Schmelzer are outstanding.

...I'd be a bit concerned for the attack. Reus is top class...but inexperienced at a tournament like this; how long can Klose operate at international tournament level given his age? Gomez is a meat and potatoes finisher needing it served up on a plate; Podolski has been getting the goals for a poor Cologne team but I cant say he ever impressed this season.

If the forwards weigh in with as many goals as that midfield undoubtedly will then Germany are clear favourites for me.

The Spanish, imo, wont reach the semis.

Mertesacker is gash but Hummels is immense. The Dutch got to a WC final with a weak defence, and I'd say Germany's is stronger than that. Especially with the fullbacks being so good, as you say.

Schweinsteiger and Khedira as well at CM. Not bad at all.

Reus is inexperienced but then to be fair so was pretty much all of the Germany team in the WC, but they still did very well. I doubt Joachim Low will pick anyone who he doesn't believe is up to the same high mental standard.

They've just got a ludicrous amount of options really, and I think you've undersold Gomez. You're right in that he's the kind of striker who needs service but when he gets it he's ruthless. And with Gotze AND Ozil he's going to get some quality service.

I absolutely can't wait to see this German side in action!

Me neither, I think they'll be superb and I hope they win the tournament.

Relatively speaking, the attack looks the weakest department for me. Podolski and Klose have been regular partners for years and Low might stick with them. Is there another obvious pairing from the four named though? Reus playing just off one of the other three has to be the way to go, IMO.
