timing is apt, consider the 'close?' thread

that so called challenge by essien on osman was late, studs up and didnt get the ball, not the kuyt assault but still a straight red.

see what i mean about the referees and their orders?

8 out of 10 denied penalties were nailed on last season.

battling 11 first team internationals is hard enough away from home.

oh, and motson is dire, its anichebe not the small salted fish found on pizzas anchovie.

classless piece of [Poor language removed].

Have to agree suits - it looked (and sounded) like one of those challenges that can end a players season - was mightly relieved and surprised when Osman continued.

No doubt should have been a red card, could have crippled Osman.
I agree it was a bad tackle and mikel also did ossie i think it was when he was away and did not get booked yet pienaar got booked for asking why mikel got away with it.
The main thing stopping us getting in the top 4 is refs and linesmen giving the big teams the decisions

I agree; it could be red card straightly!

I've seen a "strange" cards distribution too: Pienaar for a "look" was booked, Mikel for a hard "tackle" just looked by Wiley... bah?! it's like here in Italy, the "4 sisters" have (who more, ho less) the ref blessing too...

When will they ever learn to change the refereeing rules in football? The whole system, is corrupt, over complicated and has too much affect on the outcome of games. This really is ruining football now in my opinion. Its clear that if chelsea werent chelsea then essien would have been sent off, how does that work with a supposed impartial refferee.

I'm not saying we're being picked on, but that everyone is getting shafted now and again, but much less so, skys "top 4". We need changes.

Anyone see that tackle on the Celtic player midweek Champions League?

Looked like the guy was deliberately going in to break his leg. Didn't though but still made you cringe when you saw it.
