Utility: CCleaner, flux (if you use PCs at night), Chrome w/ Adblock + AdBlock Plus + Popup Blocker Pro, Tixati (torrent client)
Security, any combination of: avast!, AVG, Malwarebytes, Bitdefender, Avira
VoIP: Discord, Skype
Media: paint.net, Kodi, Spotify
Games: Memu (virtual android system), Steam

I also keep a Virtual Box VM installed on my main PC just in case I need to try something which could do damage, or just to mess around with tech scammers.

I'm actually seriously thinking of not using a free antivirus, it seems keeping your system patched up to date is more important these days (along with using your brain of course) - I was just going to use malwarebytes and something like the ublock origin plug in on chrome

f.lux is good, I plan on installing that

I usually use Ninite as well when I first set up to easily install a few bits a bobs

Tbh, I cant be bothered doing rebuild yet but want to get rid of any pre-installed bloatware, I was looking at something like Decrapifier

Kodi Im already covered on through a fire tv box into all the tellys in the house

Memu sounds interesting, Ill have a look at that as well as setting up a VM

It is good, but I'll mention that I have had it cause stuttering in some games, weirdly only before it changes colour temperature, not after. So, keep that in mind if you have a performance loss. Exit out of it in the system tray and that should solve it, when you exit it will reverse colour changes too so you aren't left with a permanent orange screen.

With Windows 10 that's the key really. Windows defender has greatly improved and as long as you are vigilant it shouldn't be an issue.

Where i work we don't use any as we use windows 10 and have a solid firewall.

We trust the engine windows 10 uses nowadays also which took way more stick in the previous OS's

We also monitor traffic and block certain websites that are known to harm.

I use Bitdefender these days. Properly good bit of software, but a bit pricey compared to the others.

At work for our VoIP core, we use Sophos UTM, and deploy RED's around the customer sites for a secure tunnel.

Some other programs that get installed on every computer I use......

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
CCleaner
Putty
CPU-Z
HWMonitor
ArcticVPN
