Khalekan

Player Valuation: £80m
Ernie didn’t play for Everton for very long and he never played very often when he was here, but the man is indelibly linked with Everton after scoring the famous “donkey kick” goal from Willie Carr’s cheeky improvisation.

A play which was subsequently banned.

Ernie died today, aged 75.

RIP

Remember a quiz question years back. Liverpool and Everton players with same names. Ernie was the one a real auld ar## got.

Shame that about Ernie he immortalised himself with that goal which was quite revolutionary at the time.

Apparently when he retired from football he became a milkman in the West Country and he drove the fastest milk cart...........

That goal was one of those “I was there moments” for me. The old Highfield Road ground, and for some reason we Everton fans were moving around at the time and I was about half way around. Peering through the crowd I saw this ball go straight up in the air and then volleyed into the net. I couldn’t figure out what had happened until I got home and watched MOTD . RIP Ernie Hunt and condolences to family and friends.
