WA Toffee

Player Valuation: £40m
This years commonwealth games saw able and disabled athletes compete together, rather than a games and "para" games.
Should we do the same with the olympics?

And should we take it even further and remove men and women events and just make it one. Womens sport is often highlighted as having less resources & pay than mens sport, so what better way of addressing it than allowing them to compete in the same events?

Who would this donkey compete against?

Women would rarely/never win any events. What good would that do?

Some 25 or so years ago there was thinking that women would compete with, and overtake men, in the marathon (but only in such endurance specific events), but that never came to pass. Turns out, even in the marathon, women don't have the muscular physiology to compete with men.

I don't see the benefit of this.

They would never win. See the (justified) outrage over transwomen competing against women. It's just not fair, although I can understand the allowance of intersex women etc... Even if you would administer steroids, and a whole bunch of other products it would still be unfair (and result in a lot of angry women). Equality by beating them on almost every event. Except sports like dressage etc ... (still a sport but it's the horse that has to have the physical capabilities).

I generally agree, but never is a large sample size

All in favour of the paras being combined into a full Olympics.

Boys V Girls?

Na.

same. if you look at all the world records etc. comparatively between sexes i don't see the point. Not being sexist, it's just the way it is. But i'd be happy if paralympics wasn't separated from the olympics as a whole and given more exposure. They're definitely olympians in my eyes.

Tbf I further changed it to "almost every event" (and sport). In most sports it would be never. Try a mixed peloton in e.g. cycling would be brutal. Compare the time of Alaphilippe with Van Der Breggen on the last climb of today etc...
