Entertainment versus Results

Saw this article today in the Aussie Football news which I thought is a very relevant topic for Evertonians.

Ignore the name of the team and the coach but the basic point here (as Garham Arnold puts it) :-
"...entertainment is "a load of crap" if it does not generate results." and "...Every coach I've ever known who's been sacked, it's never been down to entertainment, it's been down to results."

Please discuss.

it is about balance, as we have proven so far!

How much does it cost to have both entertainment and results? Ask barcelona lol

Even the vast power and wealth of Barcelona can't do it without alleged massive repeated tax fiddling.

Sport is essentially about winning.

Its nice to win pretty but its nicer to win ugly than lose pretty.

We go to Bournemouth in the next round of the cup. If we suffocate them and come away with a 1-0 you know what? we're in the 6th round and everyone forgets.

Of course, in an ideal world we would all vote for both but in an ideal worlld it is not always possible (hardly ever possible with us). If you were to vote on only one it would results every time, I joke with people that football is not about enjoyment but you know what when you walk away from a drab game then you do enjoy it.

For example, I went to watch Barrow vs Gateshead in awful weather which spoiled the game and made it into one of the most boring games I have watched, all that would have been forgotten if the Barrow striker would have luckily bundled the ball into the net in injury time.
