For their first match of 2013 England play host to arguably the greatest footballing nation of all time and 2014 World Cup hosts, Brazil, in a friendly game at Wembley to mark the beginning of the FA’s 150 year anniversary celebrations. The return fixture will be played in June in Rio de Janeiro.

Surely can’t see anything but a Brazil win for this one. Anyone else going? Not gonna bother watching it?

England squad to face Brazil: Jack Butland, Joe Hart, Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole, Phil Jagielka, Glen Johnson, Joleon Lescott, Chris Smalling, Kyle Walker, Tom Cleverley, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Leon Osman, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere, Wayne Rooney, Daniel Welbeck.

Goalkeepers: Julio Cesar (QPR), Diego Alves (Valencia)
Defenders: Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Adriano (Barcelona), Filipe Luis (Atletico Madrid), Dante (Bayern), David Luiz (Chelsea), Leandro Castan (Roma), Miranda (Atletico Madrid)
Midfielders: Arouca (Santos), Paulinho (Corinthians), Hernanes (Lazio), Ronaldinho (Atletico Mineiro), Ramires (Chelsea), Oscar (Chelsea)
Strikers: Hulk (Zenit), Fred (Fluminense), Luis Fabiano (Sao Paulo), Neymar (Santos), Lucas Moura (PSG).

Probable line ups

Hart
Johnson Lescott Jagielka Cole
Wilshere Gerrard
Walcott Cleverley Milner
Rooney

Cesar
Alves Dante Miranda Adriano
Paulinho Ramires
Hulk Ronaldinho Moura
Neymar

As much as I’d love to see Baines and Osman starting just can’t see it happening, even though Ossie would be much suited to this game as his game is slower.

I think Baines and Osman would not be out of place in this games, Baines deservedly should be playing, however with Cole set to get his 100th cap and the game being part of the FA 150th celebrations I would think that there may be some pressure to select the 'big names' for the match.

David Icke inspired training gear ?

Awful

Glad Brazil werent beat to open the stadium (how many years ago?) and hope Brazil put a show on and wipe the floor with the remains of the golden era.

to be honest though that brazil side doesnt strike the fear into an opponent in the same way older sides have done

cafu, rivaldo, roberto carlos, dida, ze roberto, pele, rivelinho, Jairzinho, dunga, zico, tostao, garrincha, bebeto - all in a different league to this lot

I'm going to see this - tickets in the Brazilian section for Mts L and her mates which will be ace and a poon fest.

Made up Ronaldinho is playing and hope he does a bit of showboating
