England v Russia post match analysis

Incessant belief is only ever one game away for England.

For what it's worth I believe they will turn Wales over easily enough midweek. That mental frailty will continue to haunt them until a canny team puts them out.

Just hope there's no trouble outside the stadium for the next game. It would be nice to be talking about the football rather than hundreds of pissed up Brexit idiots getting webbed.

It's not only Sterling's inability to produce a final product, it's his poor positioning when England are in possession. Time and time again he slowed down attacks by being too narrow and therefore in no space for a pass.

He really has no footballing intelligence. Certainly not good enough at international level.

He's poor.

His one tool is pace and a bit of skill. When he actually uses it, he's a threat. But the thing is, he hardly ever does.

England will go through at ease. They will beat Wales without too much trouble midweek and then hopefully for them get some momentum.

They have a young team and yesterday they played with a control of the game I've seldom seen from an England team in tournament football.

It was an unfortunate late goal and the problem is the blame culture is in overdrive but there's a lot more to be positive about with that performance yesterday. And unlike the previous generation team, it is not up its own arse and has an actual element of team raher than individuals.

It pains me to write that but it's true.
