....I meant it brings domestic/Premiership football into the the post-Paris headlines and I'm not convinced that is a sensible action to take. I'm far from defending the atrocities but English football provided an appropriate tribute at international level and this might be a step too far, especially if the groups concerned are looking at easy targets.

Remember the EPL has a massive world wide audience. This is a good opportunity to make a global statement about how everyday normal people feel about the atrocities that were carried out in Paris (and elsewhere e.g Beirut). Remember a major part of this "war" (don't like that term personally) is to win hearts and minds.

Personally I think it was well done for the international and that was probably enough. Did not do Russian anthem for the plane attack etc etc. good point made about the global reach of the prem.
That said if it does happen I will sing along. It is a stirring anthem.
