I was wondering why there are 12 players over the age of 21 in the squad. I've just found out that "the team is for players born in the year 21 years before the starting year of each tournament. As each tournament normally takes two years to complete, players can continue to play for the under-21 team after their 22nd birthday".
I know that we have an U19 side but it must make it difficult for young players to gain international experience if the likes of Henderson and Lansbury linger on forever.
