I think Martinez for England isn't too bad of an idea. Baines, Jagielka, Stones, Barkley are all Everton players. He could learn to cope with the rest. His style of play will definitely suit England and play to Rooney's strengths.

...suspected he would play but chuffed for him if he gets that recognition. I know some on here doubt him as a leader but you don't have to have an 'in your face' style to captain. From all I hear he has real respect throughout the club.

Me too after the disgraceful way he was treated in the World Cup debacle which had Gerrards fingerprints all over it

.....not sure what instance you are referring to but he was left out of squads for 2 major championships, including a World Cup when they brought Carragher out of retirement. Carragher never played again for England after that World Cup and I could never work out if he'd gone back into retirement!!

Terrible preparation for the Utd game. Owl face is defo going to play both Barkley and Jagielka.

The Funes Mori situation is also a big worry. No way he's going to be in the right condition to play at OT.

It's a tall order this weekend getting anything there. Martinez must be furious on the quiet.

The Uruguay 2-1 defeat ...when butthead Gerrard's wayward attempted header left Jags exposed and Suarez scored the winner. He was pilloried in the press....though he did have the balls to do the Press Conference after....unlike Gerrrard who usually hogged them.
