I must confess I'd echo the two above comments, the last few years I've found myself following England less and less with the terrible mentality from many of those who get called up seem to possess, as well as the farce that is (imho) the Capello era. I vividly remember the moment (I feel) I realized Capello is clueless, just before the World Cup when he was in the papers saying about how Barry was the most important player in the whole squad and without him being fit (as there was a chance he wasn't gunna be fit or something) there would be no hope for England..... I mean I don't want to derail this thread and bringing it back, to me it shows how well Baines and Jagielka have done to get recognised enough to get called up. Capello is obviously stubborn enough to pick players based on their club/odd opinion/insert random reason here

so to not be playing for one of usual suspect teams and get called up is a testament to them, and also possibly why Bent isn't called up because he's "only" playing for Villa.....insane

I dont think capello is the worst england manager we've had but he does sweet fa to justify his obscene wage and he's proven himself a liar by stating he would only pick players on form and then selecting the usual big name charlies from the sky clubs. I think every country should be managed, coached etc by people of that nationality.

And another thing, im patriotic and proud to have served my country. I would give anything to play for England. Fair enough if you retire from international footy to extend your club career because thats your bread and butter but players like carragher retiring cos he thought he was better than ledley king and didnt want to sit on the bench makes me sick. Its tantamount to treason to turn your back on your country and i wish you had been sent to the tower. Drunken rant over. For now.

Holland. Do us a favour Jonny and make sure you injure Crouch. Not because I'm worried about him playing against us but because he'll fail any potential medical that way.
