On request;

As you know, with major tournaments there's the usual BANTZ between England fans and non-England fans, which can sometimes lead to trouble. While this can be entertaining, it can also make it difficult sometimes for England fans who just want to have a chat about the team

I was wondering if we could have one thread called the "England Fan Safe Zone" or some such, which would be the "serious" England thread where England fans could have a decent chat about the team without the usual people storming in and causing a fracas?

While I have reservations on the word 'bantz' (toes curling here!) it's a fair point/request.

England threads tend to get overrun with wind ups/baiting, and while it is a bit of a laugh, some fans will just want some more sensible discussion.

With that, please leave this thread for sensible England discussion.

Take the piss elsewhere please.

In all seriousness, let's face it we're not winning this tournament

If we lose on penalties in the knock outs, I shall consider the endeavour to have been a successful one
If you reach the knock outs I'd consider it a successful campaign.

Also there's a mistake in your sig, why is there a coma before Jogi? Are you telling him off? "No, Jogi! NO PARTY FOR YOU!!!!"

I agree, day tripper fans (just for big tournaments) and papers will always go over the top about expectations, etc. I feel day to day club fans will generally have more realistic expectations.

If we can simply look like we are improving then it will be a success. We do have a fairly youthful looking side with a few decent prospects coming through elsewhere (especially at our place :)) so get out of the group and then see where it takes us. If it is only the next round then so be it but we have to learn from it and play 'no fear' football.
