Agree, absolutely amazing pic. Especially when you consider the Maracana is about 10 kms away. I took a photo from there on maximum zoom and the Maracana looks about the same size as Cristo's hand

I think it's a still taken from a video. The chopper is probably about 500 metres away and will have a hell of a lens on it, much better than my 10 mgp camera.
It is an awesome shot
