Player Valuation: £70m
Have Chelsea, Liverpool, Villa, Tottenham got it wrong ?

It is hard to be an Everton fan today, tomorrow and maybe for the next few years, but what is to come of the new world. There can surely be no sane business case that tells you that Carroll is worth £35m, he is not a poster boy, nor a role model, how many shirts will he sell - maybe a few if he gets the goals coming for years to come. But not sufficient to meet his price + wages, bonuses etc. So will his value rise, blimey, can't see it.

But it is not a RS problem, it is a problem of the Premier League. The big guns will have to push Sky and others for ever bigger money. They will have to force a redistribution of the monies more and more to the elite few. Could this turns us into a virtual Scotland (no offence Chico etc). Possibly. So what happens. European super league, maybe,

All I can see is bankruptcy of a huge club. A club who gambles to strongly and fails. A club who do not heed the economic reality of what they are doing, a club that succumbs to the irrational wants of an ever impatient, needy fan base. It does not matter whether you are Everton, ManU, Chelski, RS or City the fans want more.

Be careful what you wish for.....

I "fear" for the single owner model. What happens to Chelski if Abramovich slips on his yacht, bops his head and falls into the Med?

I think Liverpool wasted their money on Carroll, but at least it's obvious where that specific money came from. But what happens when the money tree dies at Chelsea or Man City? Because they certainly don't have the revenues to continue without their benefactors.

Are there any publicly traded football clubs left?

Because I'd short them to kingdom come if there were.

It's a completely broken business model and is absolutely unsustainable. Unfortunately, it's going to take a massive meltdown to get the governing bodies to take action. By then, it'll be too late and all that will be left is the smoldering wreckage that was once Premier League football.

who cares! we live in a boom and bust society. its actually encouraged so come on SPEND, SPEND, SPEND

We will be totally unable to compete with this lot for many years to come in signing players even taking onboard the fair play rules. Those rules count for sod all when you have no money and a small income.
