Embarrassed

I've supported our beloved club for over 30 yrs and I can honestly say I've never felt so embarrassed not by the poor performance yesterday (Which wasn't good) but by the behavior of certain supporters, not only booing the team, but using twitter as a platform to **** certain players off.

It's one thing to voice your opinion when things don't go to plan and I believe in free speech, but some of the nonsense I've read in the last 24hrs beggars belief, fans turning on their own team and the Manager, this is not the Everton way and people need to realize that we've done well this season in certain parts with limited resources and yes there are things that need changing at the club and younger players given a run but name me a club that isn't in a similar position.

I just can't believe how quickly fans can lavish the Team and Manager only for them to turn against them in such a short space of time, all this is doing is creating fuel for the British media to put an unwelcome spotlight on our club which will damage us in the long run. Be careful what you wish for, do people honestly think Moyes should go, is this really going to improve things, making the Manager the scapegoat is one thing but forgetting what he has done for this club over the last 11 yrs, cast your minds back to Walter Smith!

For me any Supporter that boos his team is not a true supporter of the club, people may argue they have a right to vent their frustrations and maybe they do, but booing shouldn't be one of them. I watched the highlights last night and it didn't look good, made us look like a mickey mouse club. I understand after starting well this season expectations were high but are some fans are being deluded in thinking we should be challenging the top 4, for me finishing in the top 6 would be a good season considering the limited funds the Manager has and anyone thinking a change of Manager will improve that is deluded as the Red ****e.

What's it like high up on that pedestal mate?

I saw nothing uncalled for. Stop telling Evertonians who have legitimate grievances about the club what to do.

I don't buy this 'Everton Way' thing.

It's 2013. If yesterday's performance was the 'Everton Way' then what's the point?

Fans have the right to an opinion and can voice it as they choose.

I'd be embarrassed if fans tolerated a performance and result as Yesterday.

If any player in Blue is perceived to be lacking in effort or commitment, they will know about it.

Hmm. Can't see this ending well...

I'm restraining myself from replying "properly" to be honest.

Going on the OP, I guess I should be on bended knee to David Moyes, thanking him for not turning up on the big occasion for the umpteenth time.

Unbelievable. THIS is how low we've sunk as a fanbase. If anything, that post is an embarassment.

I was a bit shocked to see how many fans left the ground yesterday, especially the ones who left straight after the 3rd goal but I can understand why they did.
Moyes hasn't done himself any favours( in terms of his relationship with the fans) with the contract situation.

This game was not about doing well without finances which we have done undoubtably this was about passion. This, to me and most other supporters, was our most important game of the season so far and they didn't turn up. If nobody looks like they give a **** then they will quite rightly be booed.

It does not make us look like a Mickey Mouse club, do you think Man U, Real Madrid, Barcelona or any other of Europe's "elite" wouldn't boo their team for letting in three goals in four minutes against Wigan? This was against Wigan FFS!!! If I had a cushion I would've thrown it.

I haven't read the full post. I stopped at embarrassed.

The thing is it shows who's bothered and who's not.

A lot of those fans were carrying kids. I'd have done the same for a variety of reasons - safety being one of them, but the other is to shield a young Blue from that crap on display.

The sad thing is we could have easily won yesterday in a poor match by the odd scrappy goal and it'd just be papering over the cracks as we've been doing for a long time. The OP is right about the fickle nature of football fans but I am 100% glad that Moyes and Everton know just how passionate the fans still are, despite years of abuse. Moyes set Fellaini up to be booed imo.

Don't use twitter much but can imagine some of the nasty stuff that players have to read about themselves. But they are the ones on there, so they know the score. If 16 year old immature kids want a bit of attention or want to feel important, I'm sure they can be nasty and I agree with the OP, though I haven't seen any of that stuff.

The problem is, far too many supporters have heard the company line of 'plucky little Everton' for too long and have actually accepted it. The amount of apologists on Twitter for Moyes and Kenwright is far worse than people questioning the commitment of multi millionaires, paid to do a job and falling way bellow standard.

Nil Satis Nisi Optimum. I might have only been two years old when we last won the league and ten when we last won a trophy but those words still mean something to me. I cannot and will not accept anything less than 100% effort from someone wearing those words on his jersey.

That result hurt yesterday, the way the players didn't show any passion or commitment and they just didn't look bothered at all, At half time i didn't think we would get back into it but i at least wanted to see some passion and pride and for the players to come out and give it a real go but even second half there was nothing, I can remember mirrallas putting in a good crunching tackle second half and that's what we needed from everyone from minute one.
