Taupin wrote the lyrics and sent them to Elton, that's all. He wrote the music to the lyrics for pretty much all of his songs so it's not the same.

Don't get me wrong, the phenomenal lyrics of Taupin are a huge part of their and his success, but the music itself is very strong.

A live show is the thing Joey - 3rd rate live is better than 2nd rate recorded. I've been dragged to some shows I wouldn't go near left to my own devices...and thoroughly enjoyed them, from Big Band to Country, Stadiums to 50 people in a back room.
