My nephew passed his 11+ today! Delighted for the little lad! He's going to the same school I went to - Bishop Wordsworth Grammar School, Salisbury. I feel v proud of him today!

This is a young lad who lost his dad at 6yrs old, just gone through a divorce (this year) and has triumphed for the first time in his life! I can't speak highly enough of him!

If you've got little ones taking this exam and getting their results - I wish them all the best!

As I said to my nephew - there is no pass or fail really - it's just an exam to determine which school is best to serve your academic needs.

Still, proud of him and feeling very happy that someone is following in my footsteps - although he's prob best not mentioning my name there!!

Well done JCXmas!

Only sit it if you live in a 'catchment' area. There's only certain areas of the country that have Grammar schools.

On the Wirral you have Calday and Wirral (well it used to be when I was up there) - I went to Calday the moved darn sarf and went to Bishop Wordsworth - in Wiltshire.

I know Kent still has some, but not sure on other areas of the country.

Well in for your nephew mate. My old man went to Caldy, like years ago though. And I was in Salisbury just last week.

He shoots, He scores.

Anything that lets kids do the best that they can, rather than put everyone into the one size fits all average common denominator has got to be good.
