Flipping 'eck. I know she had some health issues during her career, but had no idea it was life threatening. How incredibly sad.

...if I'm right, I think her Dad was a goalie for Ipswich and then up in Scotland. Very, very sad news. Seems she had a serious liver condition since she was teenager, which makes her sporting achievements even more remarkable.

Sergei Baltacha did play for Dynamo Kiev, Ipswich, and St Johnstone, also 45 caps for USSR but was a defender not goalkeeper.

Terribly sad about his daughter, and as you say her achievements were even more remarkable for her long term illness.

Awful news to wake up to. Recently married as well. Terrifies me because she was only a year older than me. From diagnosis it's only taken 3 months as well.
