Player Valuation: £40m
I've been saying since the last African Cup of Nation's that Hosny from Egypt would be an excellent signing for us.

In 2008 he was named the player of the tournament, ahead of the likes of Michael Essien, with a series of superb performances in midfield. His wikipedia listing describes him as a defensive midfielder, but that's quite misleading, as his passing, shooting and general offensive play are exceptional. Alongside Fellaini he would give us a phenomenol bedrock:

Hosny Abd Rabo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

He's still only 25. He had a short period with Strasbourg, but didn't settle and returned to Egypt. He's now on loan in Dubai. He's supposedly keen to move to England and was due to have a trial with Blackburn. I'm sure that we could sign him for a nominal sum.

I haven't had much chance to follow his form during this year's ACON, but Egypt are favourites to win the competition for a third successive time, with him as their lynchpin. I sincerely feel that he could be a world-beater with the right coaching.

A midfield of:

Arteta Hosny Fellaini Pienaar

would be very special. If we could land the player for a song, it would be even more satisfying!

We've got so many midfielders though, i'm confident Don will stay, bily will come good, rodwell, Cahill, gosling, not to mention Osman and Nev, plus Wallace, Akpan and the other kids coming through
