Player Valuation: £10m
Didn't see this elsewhere so here's a link about the departures of Danny Donachie, Dave Billows and Steve Tashjihan. I don't recall any being replaced so maybe there's a case for linking their departures to the issues we've seen all season. Of course we should compare it to what happened during Moyes' reign. I recall quite a few injury crises due to what Mirallas called 'Scottish training' but maybe different types of injuries.

If, and it is an if, this is true then a sure fire way of losing player confidence is sub-standard injury mgmt and conditioning. Whatever, you'd think a qualified physio would have an open mind to other methods and practices.

I cant take that piece seriously.

"the Everton squad had been hit with 18 hamstring injuries – more than anyone else in the league –..whereas previously Everton had a good record in this area."

Utter nonsense. We were a mess under Moyes and the now departed physio team that this blogger is lamenting. Our treatment room being full was a standing joke then.

File under "grasping at straws".

Interesting read that but Donnachie has already been made as one of the scapegoats already for all these injuries. His comments from that interview in 2013 about the players long term health being the most important aspect stuck out. If people are going against your principles, I'd quit as well.

martinez isnt a qualified physio unless hes kept up to date with his exams which i doubt and if using info from years a go its no wonder we get so many injuries.

I know they promoted from within to replaced Tashijihan. Thought Dave billows left under moyes
He left for Newcastle when Martinez arrived..obviously the players were that traumatised it only allowed them to win 21 games last season playing every game as fit as a fiddle.

Still, why let that info get in the way of some blogger and his line of attack?

*sigh*

Or he could just be rubbish....after all he was there also when Moyes was having all the injury pile ups.

*if only we had Danny Donnachie back...we could win 21 games again....come back Danny Boy*

Martinez has a degree in physiotherapy and given his field of work, I'm guessing he'd be all over it.

Besides we've all heard countless times his diagnosis of a "soft tissue injury".Pretty sure he said that about Oviedo too, despite the kid nearly having his leg amputated.

What really worries me about Martinez is that he is a non-drinker. I think we should organise a night out!

Possibly could have been rubbish. Think the issue is with the fitness team.

No doubt the blogger knows Donnachie so is backing him.

Eggs made some very interesting comments, a couple of days ago on another subject thread, about Donnachie's resignation.

Appointed by NUFC in July 2014.

As I mentioned in the OP though it is all conjecture, none of us know what's gone on at Finch Farm. It seems clear though that Martinez methods of ball work differ greatly to Moyes and therefore we're seeing different types of injuries. Whatever the reasons I just hope we're open minded and progressive towards treatment.

Medical staff are way different than coaches, most coaches are former players or are people we've already heard of so we know when they've joined the club or an article has been put on the OS.

Because most of the time we don't know any medical staff and they're signed based on medical experience and qualifications rather than their playing ability and personality no body knows or cares that much who comes in.

We wouldn't have replaced they guy who just left but the others would have been long replaced.

Medical department has been useless for years. Remember the season of the three cruciate injuries (none of whom ever retirned to the same level)? Cahill's metatarsal broke annually. Baines has never been the same since his broken foot. Saha, Vaughan, Anichebe never fit. Any player with pace was never fit. We're the only team i know to get multiple goal keeper injuries.

They are a joke at preventing injuries and then treating them. Im still waiting for Pienaar and Gibson to recover from the 'slight knocks' they got in August.
