Hi @GrandOldTeam and all other mods. Feel free to merge or remove.

After reading on twitter about the EFC Fan Survey and the 100%,imho, correct article by Lower Gladys Lad (below), are there plans we here on GOT going to participate?

LGL in his article has summed up my feelings of frustration beautifully.

Thanks mate - Grandoldteam is neither pro or anti the Club, Board or any of its investors. We're like all fans, we want to see the team winning games, playing in an attractive manner and would love us to win a trophy next season.

Our role is to provide a platform for fan's views, we're all Blues and we all want to see success.

It's like we've be on the dole for twenty odd years. Happy to be collecting a minimum amount of money with no urge to better ourselves. Occasionally we get a few bob but it rarely lasts, so we borrow money off a credit card.
We're just happy to roll along in a fog of apathy, in the vain hope that something will turn up.
As Oscar Wilde said : The world was my oyster but I used the wrong fork. It's about time the 'Everton Board' bought some new cutlery.

Its true there just happy plodding along existing instead of trying to grow and become someway competitive

Would just be nice to have someone in who has some sort of plan to take us forward

Amazes me how so many fans start on the 'nothing but the best' line when the players are not doing well or demanding the manager out yet sit back and put up with the board, or worse clap the buffoon when he appears on screen

think it's because it's easier for them to think "replace this player/manager and we'll be ace again" instead of facing the fact it's a long road back to the club's former heights

yeah our business "expertise" or lack thereof has held us back. So with our current poor business model unless we get bought by some billionaire our best chance to get back as regular fixture in the top 4/title race is to build organically from within and gradually. We're never going to go from an average 7th- 8th place finish to CL regulars overnight.

Perhaps it would help if the Club would tell us of its feasible plans for the short, medium and long term future.
There does not appear to be a strategic vision. What is Everton for ? Is it merely to exist in the Premier League, occasional high days and holidays, and on to the next season ?
The current debates about team selection, the position of the manager and the Fair Play League etc., important as they are, are as nothing compared to the complete abandonment of any sense of future planning for the Club.
The soldiers in the trenches in the First World War used to sing a song, to the tune of Auld Lang Syne : We're here, because we're here, because we're here, because we're here. We're here, because we're here, because we're here, because we're here.
The 'Board' seems happy for this to continue and to rely on the forbearance of the fans. How long this will continue is a moot point.

They don't have a plan. Clearly the Board's plan all these years is to stay afloat. Hope for a handout to get lucky with a stadium or a billionaire miraculously appearing to fill their pockets.
We are going nowhere as a Club. I have been saying it for a decade now that this Board is a joke. The article is just brilliant in my opinion.
Maybe finally a percentage of the supporter base may wake up to the harsh reality that this Board is a joke, and has no plan.

It's a country club and the likes of Bill and Deadwood get full value for their membership. Like Littlewoods - (see Primark and Matalan) if they don't wake up and smell the coffee we'll be like Forest, Derby, Wolves, Wednesday etcetera - or (if we're a bit luckier) West Ham, Newcastle, Sunderland floating back and forth between the top 2 divisions.
