Being a dinosaur who does man stuff, engineering, old cars, proper DIY, etc practically everything I buy today is from ebay. There is nothing, NOTHING useful for me in high streets or other uk outlets. Germany, the US and practically every other country seem to cater for people who want to do stuff for themselves, but here in disposable, helpless, enslaved-to-big-Corp UK ebay is the only supplier of note. Even then most of what I want to buy comes from overseas. Thank the gods of independence for ebay!Never really dealt with it. Hear too much about people trying to rip people off.

Never had an issue with being ripped off.
I watch a lot of interesting you tube channels about engineering. Seems these home hobbyists could buy the parts and tools needed for a nuclear reactor from home depot. And then there's McMaster. .. we have nothing like these two over hereThe only thing most Americans do for themselves is food. That said, Home Depot and Lowes are on every corner
I've heard about people like you, ya dirty old man.I buy second hand underwear.
