For all you gaming nerds out there, this is the biggie! It is for me anyway -- I frigging love E3.

Apparently they've prematurely shot their load and accidentally released a few details already; it looks like Halo 4 is on the way. I'm a massive Halo fan, but with Bungie not at the helm I'm sceptical. Anyway, it should be an entertaining watch. Assuming it's not all Kinect-based like it was last year... that was less entertaining and more excruciating.



Other than that, Sony have theirs in about 8 hours -- although I doubt I'll be up at 1 am watching that one... and Nintendo have theirs tomorrow around about this time. Nintendo's should be interesting, with this "Project Cafe". A proposed route back into the hearts of the hardcore is something I hope comes to fruition, as a past Nintendo fanboy.

I'm looking forward to seeing a lot more about Battlefield 3. Hopefully some PC titles that'll use dx11 so that when I buy my new PC, it's not to play games with 5 year old graphics.
 
Pretty tame so far. Lots of Kinect rubbish. As ever, the tech looks really impressive, but the only examples of it affecting proper gameplay in "core" titles is in Star Wars and this new Fable game -- both on the rails titles. And on the rails games aren't really the answer for me.

Positives, they're remaking Halo 1 for 360 with MP!!! BLOOOOOOD GULCH!!!!!! *jizzes pants*

Also, surprisingly, this new Tomb Raider game looks fantastic. Considering it's not out for over a year ("Fall 2012") the gameplay footage looks boss -- like a grittier Uncharted. Colour me excited.

They opened with MW3 and I don't really want to mention that as it was the epitome of "been there, done that... every year since 2007". Yawn.
 

And Halo 4 is revealed, as the show comes to an end. One short trailer and a vague release date; "Holiday 2012".

I love Halo, and I've faith that even though Bungie aren't at the helm it will be a good game. I just hope it's going to be a great game.



Ooooh and they're playing people out to Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks"... quality song. :lol:
 
Oh yeah and I forgot. Minecraft was announced as a console exclusive for 360/kinect. I don't know if it's just for kinect or for 360 without kinect, too, but that for once actually sounds like a good use for the thing.

Still not nearly enough to convince me to buy one, however.

Anyway, EA's conference is on in 90 minutes... MASS EFFECT 3!!!!!!!! *jizzes pants again*
 
Couldn't get onto the site on my iPod, will YouTube it at home. Can't believe they're going with on the rails titles for kinect, sounds lame.

Kinect has been a major disappointment. They've still not come up with a real answer for the problem of hands free gaming. No, Microsoft, it isn't the future. Controllers aren't the enemy, they're what allow us to do multiple things in games. Like moving and shooting.

If you're a little kid or you have kids then there is one cool Kinect title on the way -- Tim Schafer's (Double Fine's) Sesame Street game. Obviously it's not aimed at me, but for kids it looked pretty boss.

And Schafer -- my gaming hero -- made history by actually delivering comedic lines on an E3 stage without ensuing tumbleweed or polite laughs! Upon the actors coming on stage to demo the game: "Release the simulated family" :lol:

Mate, did you fall through some kind of time wormhole? This is 2011. Not 1986. Sega don't even make consoles anymore. And there's a black president!
