dyche thinks

In some was, I mourn the demise of Dyche. Last of the old school "They dont like it up them" managers. The end of the hit the channels and battle overachievers, like Wimbledon crazy gang and our own dogs of war. Players like Vinny Jones and John Fashanu bullying and intimidating opponents with supporting talent like Andy Clarke, Robbie Earle and Dean Holdsworth adding a dash of flair. These players had to fight their way up, more heart than skill that kept them off the building sites. Now, young players make more in a week than their parents make all year, at 16 years old. No more YTS, cleaning the boots of a senior player, it's all just a given now. If they dont make it theyre set for life anyway.

There's only one way to play now, and centre halfs touch the ball more than midfielders, possession is all. Maybe it's through rose tinted glasses but football back then was magic.
