Dyche Fitness - A Discussion

Player Valuation: £6m
Our team is one built partially if not wholly on the exclusion of certain players for whatever reasons.

Here you can discuss our players who are either put into the team without sufficient fitness or are excluded from the team for the same reasons.

To start with, currently, McNeil does not seem to be as sharp as the others with possession, I assume he is not dyche fit.

Can you reword this with examples?

I’ve no idea what it means. I also have no idea what ‘Dyche fit’ means.
Any 11 excludes the other 15 players registered, some are outright forgotten or overlooked (like Gomes, Gray, Dele) for various reasons not all of them based on injuries.
I also am unsure about Dyche Fitnesss, when players like McNeil and Harrison were fast-tracked to the first team. I suggest we look in detail at the various uses of Dyche fit as it seems he will be our manager for some time yet.

McNeil gets straight into our 11 irrespective of his match fitness, Harrison is slightly sharp but was nowhere fit enough to be for Luton or Bournemouth.
Poor young is asked to clock in his 90min despite sensible options available. So what is Dyche fit here then?

Who is it you'd like him to play?
Yeah, a discussion of alternatives for any matchday. Who'd you like to have played or come on as a sub and so forth, because let's be honest, our manager is not able to fully read the pulse of the game so this could be the Autopsy of the game, a what if?

Could you dumb it down a little bit please, even thinking about deciphering that is giving me a headache.

I'll try again, "Who is it you'd like him to play?"

I apologize, it might be the way I talk...

An example for the RS match is that we should've got on Godfrey instead of Keane, Godfrey might survive the 3 people defense that helps the wingbacks push forward. Clearly, McNeil and Harrison were not fit enough for the entire game, so should have gone with Danjuma and Beto, who are also considered Dyche fit.

I suspect hindsight is 20/20, fair enough, Godfrey instead of Keane. Danjuma and Beto for McNeil and Harrison looks like 442 instead of 451. We could have had 100 players on the field, we were losing yesterday thanks to the infamous man in black. All the fitness and players and tactics in the world aren't changing that.

Godfrey is crap and McNeil and Harrison were subbed in a duff tactical switch, nothing to do with fitness.

Oh, of course, the deeper question is why play some players when they are not Dyche Fit, and when asked why they weren't taken off, you get the response that he is in the same class as Guardiola with substitutions.

Of course, Hindsight is 20/20, but our manager needs better glasses nonetheless. I actually think we'd be set like 3-4-2 with a man down. The RS were not in great shape but the referee was playing a complete blinder for that match just like how it was for us and Bournemouth. The man in black only requires a cursory look as it is bog standard as far as Everton is concerned.

He might be bad like you say but he looked shaky in that Doncaster game, a three at the back can possibly save him a lot of pain. Remember, some of his better performances have come from fullback positions. I think having him to mark that nunez/diaz chap would have been useful. He at least knows to keep his hands behind his back.

….I think ’Dyche Fit’ is a nonsense of a statement. Dyche is like any other manager, he’ll rush players back he thinks are invaluable to the team. McNeil needed games and you can see him getting sharper. Chermiti was given game time soon after he arrived.

The exception has been DCL. I can only imagine Dyche was acting on specific medical advice.

I like the way Dyche has filtered out the likes of Holgate and even Keane. He’s pragmatic, he picks what he thinks is his best team despite what some think.

But we'll never be sure of it, he has put many players under that category to not play them. So I just think 'DycheFit' is itself a way to play favourites. I sincerely hope not though.
