It’s pretty clear he’s there as a bit of a totem. He has a good relationship with the likes of DCL but I’m sure he will have little to no input in Benitez’ set up.
If we’re going to go down the route of an interim manager for the rest of the season he mightn’t be a bad shout as long as he can galvanise the players.

Galvanise players? What’s his job now? What’s the point of him being on the bench? He’s just a token appointment, always has been and it’s embarrassing and amateurish. You don’t see Shaun Goater on the Citeh bench for instance. We are just a shambles.
