....strange this, I was in Blackpool today for a few meetings and was on the 57 early. A colleague was due to arrive later but got stuck on traffic so dialled into the meeting. This must be the reason. Irony is that the colleague is a Reds season ticket holder.

Seeing the big guy in those match pics again just reinforces how much fun it is to have a big, tough enforcer centre forward in the team. May not have been the world's but striker, but I loved every minute watching him.

You're not alone. The ever increasing age of those who regular attend football matches is a concern for many clubs and the FA.

Since the implementation of all-seating stadia in the top levels, the demographics have changed considerably due to the increasing costs.

Tickets (S/T or individual) may still be relatively cheap for children, but for adults it has took a huge jump. Not everyone is able to afford it

Include the fact that when many of us were younger you could go as a teenager (or younger) by yourself; now it is a taboo. Add that to the cost.

If you looked at the average attendee at Goodison, I'd confidently suggest it was a late thirties to forty something male. It can't go on like that.

Not just football having this problem. I've been watching speedway for years and the average age of the crowd must be 50+ nowadays. Not cost related either as it's cheap enough to get in. More that kids play the playstation version at home and don't want to watch the real thing in the outdoors.
