or teams will go, well that's the world champions gone, let's play the waiting game, wait for a few of the big boys to follow suit and before you know it Wales are world champions 2022 beating Ethiopa on penalties.

WALES, WALES, WALES, WALES, WALES, 1 STAR, WE ALSO HAVE 1 STAR!
Love the optimism, beating Ethiopia:p

Said it in the qatar thread, its the sponsors that need to dump fifa for anything to realistically change.

They'll always get more sponsors though, if Coke pulls out Pepsi would step in, if Budwiser pulls out Coors would step in etc etc.

There'll always be someone willing to sponsor an event with the appeal and audience the size of the World Cup commands.

Yep - we've had sponsors swap in and out just recently.

Only way to derail FIFA is to remove the footballers. No one would give two shiny pennies to watch 11 of us Yankee GOT posters line up against 11 GOT scousers.

maybe so dougie maybe so...but i think if Coke pulled out and said they were ditching them for their corrupt ways;Pepsi or whoever would find it hard to justify sponsoring a knowingly corrupt organisation surely. would take most if not all of their major sponsors to really hurt them though i think. I wish it would happen but it most likely wont.

There's very few events worldwide that can attract audiences in their billions, businesses will always want to be associated with that sort of appeal sadly and until it's completely out in the open their still an attractive partner to big brands.
