Should the English F.A break away from F.I.F.A.? I for one would be more than happy to break away from fifa the way they treat the english game is a disgrace! They need us more than we need them in my opinion!

They are massively unaccountable, a lot of the senior people (those of Jack Warner's ilk) are either strongly suspected of being corrupt or demonstrably are corrupt, they routinely interfere with those governments who seek to try to deal with corruption at a national level, the legal priviledges they demand now for the world cup are beyond perverse (they demanded and achieved the mad situation that fifa (and those that paid fifa to be official entities) paid no tax at the 2010 world cup) and the way they perceieve the modern game (most infamously Blatter's insistance that the game originated in China) is ****.

Its not just England that should break away from FIFA, everyone else should, and Blatter, Warner and the rest should really be put up against a wall.
 
I know one thing, if people buy FIFA 12 over Pro Evo this year they are bad hypocrites

As for breaking away from FIFA, its a hollow threat, it would never happen, be far too much upheaval, serious consequences and a lot of people would lose a lot of money. Besides, theres just as much corruption at the FA.
 

You have to look at the bigger picture. The English F.A. would certainly be in the minority so it would do more harm than good if they were to press ahead with a breakaway, plus you have UEFA/Platini & Co. circling Sepp's wrinkly one. None starter imo.

P.S. I for one is surprised London got the Olympics. I wonder how many bungs and pressies Mr Coe and the Labour party threw their way?
 
FIFA are an absolute joke. How they get away with it, is unbelievable.
Hopefully this latest fiasco about the "investigation" in the WC 2018/2022 bidding/voting process might just force some people into action.
Good to hear this from a senior Football administrator (who had no real skin in the game for these bids):-
"European football's governing body UEFA will consider leaving FIFA if it does not publish in full Michael Garcia's report into bidding for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups, claims German Football League President Reinhard Rauball."

...I said on the Qatar thread that I'm surprised there hasn't been a 'revolution'. Not so sure about England going alone but surely the main football nations have had enough.
 
I would guess that Australia and USA plus some far eastern countries would consider it, I know not the greatest powerhouses of football but still enough to make people take note. USA in particular could lead a revolution.
 
it's hard, the Football World Cup is possibly the pinnacle of sport behind the Olympics. Why should nations and their Associations have to leave it because of a few corrupt barstewards in charge. everyone worth their salt knows the Qatar bid is as dodgy as hell.

Just have an alternative competition, sort of like when the premier league was formed. I think a lot of associations would love to leave FIFA just no balls atm.

Sure if they abandon they would need an alternative "world" competition, which leads to setting one up. Almost certain Germany leaving would be the pebble that started an avalanche.
Edit. Replied before reading article. EUFa leaving would seal the deal in my opinion.

or teams will go, well that's the world champions gone, let's play the waiting game, wait for a few of the big boys to follow suit and before you know it Wales are world champions 2022 beating Ethiopa on penalties.
