Has he not got a parent from the Republic?

There was a little bit about him in one of the programmes last season when they interviewed the kids coming through. Even then he said he eligible to play for both Republic and Northern Ireland.

He has no ties to the Republic, only this daft rules allows him to play for them.
We have lost another fantastic talent because of this stupid rule.
I wish him well though with his adopted country. They have a future gem on their hands. :(

Ah sure it's all one country. Yis are just a bit stubborn

Oh well at least if NI riots in anger over this, it won't be as frivolous as bashing each other skulls in due to the fact they share they exact same religion.

I'd stay well clear of statements like that lid. There is no need to dig up the past here. (y)
This is about football, not religion or anything similar. To comment otherwise is idiotic.

We're not stubborn. How would you feel if a fantastic talent defected to another country? I've been raving about him to everyone, and now he will never play for us. Im gutted. :(

After what happened to Neil Lennon I don't blame him tbh.

Well there's that, and he's ours now! You can have Kevin Kilbane if you want...

I meant it as a joke, but its kind of nasty one so I'll delete it.

I agree the Neil Lennon situation was disgusting. However that was a minority. That does not reflect the views of us all. Those responsible were given lifetime bans from watching N.Ireland home and away.
I remember going to Dublin with my football team and being shot at, and petrol bombed. Do i think that reflects the views off all of Dublin and the Republic in general? NO, I'm not stupid enough to think that way.

I wouldnt be worried trap wont pick him or coleman, so you lot will probably end up with them. Delighted when i read this we need somebody to replace dunne eventually.

The minority is more than enough to scare someone away. Especially a Catholic from Derry.
