Housequake

Player Valuation: £8m
Step up, Erik Lamela.

Now, call me old school...but if somebody is going to pay £30m for you, you better be bloody good.

1 in 12 for the boy so far, against Sheriff Teraspol, WOOF.

In all honesty, I can have the young lad/new league/out of position/language barrier stuff all day long, but to look so out of his depth for the kind of money that buys you David Silva plus change I wouldn't be happy...especially when you've just spunked £26m on that Valencia-n lump up front as well.

I hate that saying, 'out of his depth'.

He was playing at a standard / level just as high last season, and playing very well.

He has been at the club 10 minutes.

Ability, he has loads and has been a star in the media since he was 11 years old. Sometimes, moves just dont work, or it takes time.

I think take your pick from Hooper/Van Wolfvinkle, Anyone Fulham or Sunderland have bought and Lukaku.

Obviously not Lukaku :)

Pretty sure is was this guy they were talking about on MOTD, and the point was made that of his 40 odd goals for whoever he came from, only 1 was outside the box, and that Spurs just do not seem to get him anywhere near the box this season.

Still, my world football knowledge is pants, so might not be him.

That is Soldado.

Typical of the English attitude, to think a player is 'out of his depth' when not playing well, the second he steps on the pitch in this country. Its just not that simple.

That kinda underlines my point about my knowledge! I honestly have never heard of 95% of foreign players before they come into the PL. In fact, probably Ozil is the only one, so basically ignore everything I say.

Reading a book at the moment that takes about player moving to other countries, and the clubs just expecting them to settle.

They spend millions on the player, and turn their nose up and spending a few more grand gatting the player & family settled.

English clubs are years behind the rest of Europe.

They even used examples, Pienaar was used, when he went to Ajax. He had loads of trouble when he got to Amsterdam, awfull in training, not happy, and when they assigned a relocation manager to him, they found the problem.

He moved into a flat, and played music quite alot....he was 18, that is normal. But he put the speakers directly on the floor, casuing the flat downstairs to complain, so argumnets would continue all day. The relocation manager, got him a table and carpet, and it stopped the issue instantly. He started to perform.

28m Soldado
30m Lamela
18m Paulinho

And City smashed them 6:0.

AVB was right when he deemed it "embarrassing". Pathetic performance.

Given time, though, I am sure they'll be ok.

The players they got rid of, for these superstars, are playing very well.

I did bring this up in the summer, when it happened.

Spurs bombed out, Parker, Huddleston, Livermore, Carrol & Caulker for these "better" players.

Lamela really didnt want to leave Roma and join Spurs. he cried for ages when Roma told him he was leaving.

No wonder he isnt doing anything for Spurs... he doesnt want to be there

 has jelavic moved recently? mayber needs a new table

Drogba was close to walkin out of Chelsea training, as he had no idea how to sort his driving license out, and felt stranded.

People may laugh but imagine having to move with a family / wife or young girlfriend at home, in a strange country, cant speak the language, cant drive, dont have a phone, no idea about schools etc. Wife in tears as you leave the house to kick a ball about.

Things have changed a bit, but these problems are still around.
