It is correct to charge someoen with wasting police time and or perjury IF they delieberatly falsify a rape report.

It destroys the life of teh accussed and wastes countless hours of police and court time as well as cheapening all valid rape claims.

To be fair to Nik, whenever he discusses Muslims he never says 'I don't like them because of the colour of their skin' because that's not his belief. He doesn't like the Islamic ideology, and to be honest I'm not too keen on how it's applied by a lot of people either. Disliking an ideology you find oppressive or unfair doesn't make you racist.

Sadly their are lots of women who do cry wolf which can sometimes mean actual rape cases are treated with scrutiny however wrongly.

I'm not denying it happens but there's no proof false reporting is any more common for rape than for any other crime, and treating all victims like their lying is why it's a crime with such a scarily low conviction rate.

Obviously it's not as bad as the middle east and other places ruled by sharia law where rape victims are routinely executed and women's testimony are flat our dismissed.

But a quick google search will find you a fair few cases of women in the western world being charged with perjury or wasting police time and later evidence proved they were actually raped. And I have sat at a rape case and watched the victim basically be told repeatedly by the defence lawyer that she asked for it, and have her clothes and what was she drinkign questioned as if any of that justified it.

When in Canada, for instance, men have put up posters around town telling women not to report rapes, it's difficult to argue it's purely a middle eastern problem.

Though that doesn't change the fact that it's far far worse, there. Because those prejudices are actually backed up by the laws.

No, it's based on misogyny and patriarchy. It's a cultural thing and, sadly, having loads of money allows you to resist pressure for social change. The west needs to do more to apply political pressure on human rights abuses like this but, sadly, money talks.

Well said, mate. I'm tired of dubious EDL platitudes being trotted out on this website as some sort of gospel. Let's face it, when [Poor language removed] Riot got shafted nobody was bleating on about Russian Orthdoxy or "ideology."

Let's be clear here, Muslims are being demonised by the EDL with just this sort of argument. Of course they don't say "we hate pakis" (but we all know they do), they go on about "ideology" (though they'rte not bothered by fascist ideology) and "homophobia" (like the EDL leadership are some sort of Gay Priders or something) and "British children not being allowed to drink water in the classroom for fear of offending the Muslims" (as if!) and the like. That's how they roll.

The EDL are, sadly, on the rise, and football forums are happy hunting grounds for them. Their divisive, spurious hate-mongering needs to be challenged. This forum needs to take a stand against it.
